[edit] takes her time; bittersweet
Noriko is the sort of girl that exists in basically every high school, but amplified about a thousand times. She's really, really loud, aggressive, and cheerfully rebellious in a way that implies she's not really trying to be a rebel, it's kinda just how she is. Sure, she resents authority, but if their agenda suits hers, she'll fall in line--so long as they don't start trying to make her into some fucking yuppie, or anything. She smokes and drinks, but tries to avoid drugs with a certain twitchiness and knowledgeable edge that implies she's not exactly been a puritan in past years.
She has detention a lot. It never seems to deter her. From anything.
[edit] reads the magazines she's not meant to read
Ethnicity: Japanese.
Nationality: American.
Religious Affiliation: Once Buddhist; now she doesn't really care, actually.
Height: 5'7". She hopes she's still growing.
Weight: 128 pounds.
Hair: Black, cut to her chin, and choppily--she does it herself at home, but works well for her. It's also dyed/tinted blue.
Eyes: Brown.
GPA: 2.8, currently.
Extracurriculars: Soccer, track & field, potentially lacrosse.
Family: Her biological family is out of contact and her general attitude toward them is that they don't exist (sans her brother Keitaro), but she lives with a foster father, Jim Feynman, foster brother, Harry Feynman, and foster sister, Jane Feynman.
Misc: Nori has a few tattoos (lower stomach, back, right arm), but what's most readily apparent is how she always wears bands over her wrists. If you catch her without the coverings, her wrists are pretty deeply burned, like something extremely hot was pressed against them.

[edit] she tries to speak through broken wires
Noriko is canonically told "there is nobody as loud and opinionated and frustrating as you" (to which her response is "boys always say the sweetest things"); this is from someone who ostensibly likes her, so there you go. She's marked both by her protectiveness and her defiance--while it's perfectly fine for her to hit her male friends as a form of affectionate communication, anyone actually attempting to strike them will have a small girl directly in their face. It doesn't matter who you are or what you think of it, Nori is going to take care of it for you--unless she hates you. In that case, she's pretty much completely vicious, with a genuinely troubling violent streak, although lately she's beginning to outgrow that tremendously young black-and-white morality. Integrity and moral fortitude are not things she lacks at all, but the wisdom to wield these things well has yet to develop. She thinks and lives like a kid of the streets, even though she goes to this fancypants private school, now. After spending three years homeless and hooked on drugs, she never wants to go back to feeling helpless, but she doesn't quite fit in with most of her classmates. Their horror stories are, for the most part, different to hers. While she's very bright (more than she'll actually admit to, which is ridiculous, but she tends to think of intellectual pursuits as useless in practical situations), she's also extremely physical, and it's easy to judge her as a dumb aggressive jock or party-girl. A certain part of her is held back, no matter how outgoing she seems; her family rejecting her wholeheartedly when she was a thirteen year old kid was, as you'd imagine, a pretty traumatic experience, compounded with the stress of how she lived until age sixteen. She doesn't want to lose her independence, but she does value family more than she's willing to admit, which scares her. Connections are dangerous, they can be lost or dropped, and therefore almost too much risk in a non-superficial sense.
In addition to being pretty disdainful of the upper-crust, she considers herself a feminist and will basically drop whatever she's doing to tell you that you're wrong, how, and why at any given moment. Unchecked, in a different universe, she is the sort of person who would want to become an Amazon or a Valkyrie, something angry and vengeful and noble and bloody, but isn't grown up enough yet to discipline herself into being efficient at helping people instead of just bullying them into doing what she feels is best for them.
She likes really, really loud music, wearing bikini tops with hugely baggy pants whenever possible, and clunky boots.
